Fighting the Flu

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST
It's back! And this season it could be stronger than ever. On this edition of Food Talk for Health, we join the battle against the flu, and we've brought some pretty powerful ammunition! But it's not what you expect, we're setting the clock back...all the way to medieval times.  Back in the Middle Ages, people fought things like bubonic plague and leprosy. In those times, mankind made some important discoveries about how to fight illness, and there's someone who's making sure those ancient, yet effective, treatments aren't forgotten.
Sherry Torkos

On the show, Tonia talks with Sherry Torkos, a holistic pharmacist and author of more than a dozen books on natural healing. She says colloidal silver, mint and turmeric are as effective today, as they were back in the 15th Century, at fighting flu, stomach aches, pains and wounds. Learn more about these remedies, as we go back to the future!

The flu pandemic is real, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say last year, an estimated 80,000 Americans died from the flu, and more than 23,000 passed away from superbugs. It's a problem, and it's something Sherry takes very seriously. Learn more on Food Talk for Health.
